A tactical gamble, which finds a partly unexpected defender at the end of the day.

Marco Bezzecchi stands with Jorge Martin. The Spaniard, leader of the MotoGP world standings, squandered much of his lead over Pecco Bagnaia in Misano due to an untimely decision to change bikes due to the rain that was pelting the Romagna track. As a result, he finished the San Marino Grand Prix in 15th° place, with his rival moved back to -7 in the championship. But, according to the VR46 team centaur, it was not è a mistake.

"Had I been leading the championship, I probably would have imitated Bagnaia’s choice. Però I fully agree with Martin’s choice,” Bezzecchi said at the end of the day. “These are choices that can be risky, if però you get them right, the phenomenon is you. When you get them wrong, however, you pass for an idiot. The difference in these cases è always very subtle".

"He tried and it è went wrong for him. But certainly he è not a clueless person, he was right to make that decision. I agree with it, it really could have made a difference to the situation that was coming up on the track", added Bezzecchi on the heated stages of the Misano Grand Prix, particularly between the seventh and tenth laps.

Bezzecchi’s premise, moreover, è was shared after the race by Martin himself. "È it is clear that è it was an error of strategy – admitted the Pramac centaur to the microphones of 'Sky Sport' -. If I had been more clear about the weather conditions that would arrive after a few minutes I would not have stopped. I should also have waited for Bagnaia’s choice, since è my main opponent. This è for sure, I know".
