Davis Cup, Jannik Sinner wants to be there in Bologna

World No. 1 would like to be supportive of the team

Jannik Sinner particularly cares about the Italy jersey. If it were up to him, he would always play when there's to wear the blue jersey. Unfortunately, there are commitments to meet and, most importantly, have time to rest as well. Volandri, captain of the Italian Davis Cup team, spared him the first round of challenges scheduled in Bologna.

After winning the U.S. Open trophy, it è behooves the world number 1 to take some time to recover and honor the various institutional commitments that await him. However, it appears that Jannik Sinner has asked his entourage to still be present in Bologna to give support to his teammates.

Italy will take the field, at the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio, starting Wednesday, when it is scheduled to play Brazil. Then, on Friday, it will be Belgium’s turn and, finally, next Sunday’s confrontation with the Netherlands.

Jannik Sinner hopes, if his schedule permits, to "make a presence" in Bologna. Perhaps he might even use the opportunity to show the audience the US Open trophy he just won. After winning the Davis Cup as a star player, Jannik Sinner wants to show, once again, that he is very attached to the national team. It would also be an important gesture toward his teammates in blue.
