The first edition of the Half Marathon d’Italia “Memorial Enzo Ferrari”, which will take place next March 30, 2025, è was presented this morning in the picturesque setting of the Fiorano Modenese Track, in the presence of media and institutions.
Many guests attended: Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, Master Group Sport General Manager Antonio Santa Maria, Fidal President Stefano Mei, Emilia-Romagna FISPES Regional Delegate Paolo Zarzana, up to the institutions represented by the Mayor of the Municipality of Maranello and President of the Union of Municipalities of the Ceramic District Luigi Zironi, the’Councillor of the Municipality of Modena with delegations to Culture, Cultural and Creative Industries, Tourism, Historical Center, City Promotionà, Sports, Youth Policies Andrea Bortolamasi, the Head of the Political Secretariat of the Presidency of the Emilia-Romagna Region Giammaria Manghi, and special guest athletes Rita Cuccuru, Paralympic athlete, Italian duathlon, triathlon and aquathlon champion and winner of the Paris Marathon 2024, and Yemaneberhan Crippa, gold medalist Half Marathon European Championships Rome 2024.
A fast route between iconic places, in an ideal parallelism between “running” and “the world of racing”, starting from Maranello, near the Ferrari Museum and arriving in Modena, which aims to become an event of great running importance and not only. Born under these auspices is the Half Marathon of Italy “Enzo Ferrari Memorial”, where the canonical race over the distance of 21.0975 kilometers will be joined by those over shorter distances of 10 and 5 kilometers. The’event aims to carve out a dual role: attractive in the Italian running calendar, but also a celebration open to all, fans, families and athletes, who will be able to experience an unforgettable day of sport.
The event è organized by Master Group Sport, a leading sports marketing company in Italy and the protagonist of the most important sports events. Ferrari, as Hosting Partner, for the first time in its history will putà at disposal, for a sports event open to all fans, some exclusive sites such as the company avenues and the Fiorano track, as well as Spazio Ferrari, where the Marathon Village will be set up. The support of territorial institutions, from the Emilia-Romagna Region to the municipalities of Maranello, Fiorano Modenese, Formigine and Modena, is fundamental.
The Half Marathon d’Italia “Memorial Enzo Ferrari” in fact, has the’objective of enhancing the territory with the start of the race in front of the Ferrari Museum in Maranello and arrival in Modena in Piazza Roma, i.e., the two citiesà symbol of Enzo Ferrari’s life, crossing the streets of the neighboring municipalities of Fiorano Modenese and Formigine. The 21-km route and its altimetry will give all fans, from participants who are just getting into this fascinating sport to top runners, the opportunity to compete in a fast race, with the possibility of setting personal records. The other two distances of 5 km and 10 km, starting and finishing in front of the Maranello Museum, will offer everyone, including families, a festive atmosphere immersed in a unique experience.
