Tie-break fair ends badly
Azzurri knockout
The marathon tie-break ended bitterly for the Azzurri. In the Davis Cup, Bolelli and Vavassori were defeated by the Matos-Melo pair with a score of 6-7, 7-6, 7-6, despite having had three match points at their disposal.
Italy, deprived of its star Jannik Sinner as well as Lorenzo Musetti, still beat Brazil thanks to wins in the singles by Berrettini and Arnaldi.
On Friday the Italians will face Belgium, while on Sunday they will take on Holland. The top two teams will advance to the final round.
