Jannik Sinner has returned to Italy after his historic triumph at the Us Open. The world number one, who decided to skip the group stage of the Davis Cup, in agreement with captain Filippo Volandri and the Federation, will spend a few days of absolute rest in Sesto Pusteria.
Meanwhile, according to reports in 'Il Corriere dello Sport', the South Tyrolean would have chosen a new athletic trainer, after the end of the collaboration with Umberto Ferrara and physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi, following the case that broke out over the blue player's Clostebol positivity.
Sinner will rely on Marco Panichi, a Novak Djokovic loyalist. The Roman trainer, in fact, è been on the Serbian champion’s team for 6 years, at two different times: the first from’April 2017 to’April 2018 and the second from mid-2019 until the spring of this year, when Nole announced the separation with Panichi.
With a degree in Sport Coaching and Psychology in Sport from NSU University in Florida, Marco Panichi è a professional coach and massage therapist. In the past, he has worked with other top tennis players such as Philipp Kohlschreiber, Simone Bolelli, Fabio Fognini, Li Na and Angelique Kerber.
