In the 2022 NBA Draft, AJ Griffin è was chosen with call number 16 by the Atlanta Hawks. A crystal clear talent, he showed in his first steps in the NBA that he can play at a high level. Now, però according to reports from The Athletic, he is reportedly seriously contemplating his retirement from basketball.

Should the farewell become a reality, it would indeed be something unusual. AJ Griffin, in fact, is only 21 years old and, therefore, è at the beginning of what could be an explosive career. The reasons that would be pushing the young long man toward retirement are not yet clear.

Before he landed in the NBA, he suffered several injuries (especially ankle problems) and, last year, with the Atlanta Hawks jersey, he played only 20 games by technical choice. Last July, however, he participated in the Summer League with his new team, the Houston Rockets.

Son of Adrian Griffin (nine seasons in the NBA and now head coach), AJ è; has always been considered a potential star player, given the many technical and physical assets he has at his disposal. To be understood why heè wants to stop right at the most beautiful, that is, after only having tasted the NBA (albeit with the inevitable difficulties of a very young man entering the most important league in the world).
