Milan, what a tegola: longer-than-expected stop for Ismael Bennacer
Milan, Ismael Bennacer returns in 2025
Bad news for Milan from the infirmary. The Rossoneri, in fact, will have to do without Ismael Bennacer, who è seriously injured his right calf with his Algeria during the national team break. The former Empoli man will be in the pits for at least four months and will return to coach Paulo Fonseca’s disposal in 2025.
“AC Milan announces that Ismaël Bennacer è underwent surgery this morning in Finland. The surgery on the right calf è was performed by Dr. Lasse Lempainen. Recovery time is estimated at four months" this is the statement issued by the Rossoneri club.
Initial instrumental examinations had shown a severe injury of the medial twin muscle of the right calf and estimated recovery time of about three months. Subsequent checks to which the player underwent, however, highlighted the need for surgery, postponing his return to the field even more.
Despite the former Empoli midfielder's serious injury, Paulo Fonseca and Milan would have no intention of going back on the market to replace the player. The Portuguese coach, in fact, è exposed himself on the subject already on the eve of the challenge with Venezia: "Vos started training with us this week. I had already watched him before, he confirmed that he è a quality player, he likes to have the ball and wants to have great participation in offensive possession. Technically strong, he can è be a midfielder and trequartista. I è really liked the work he did with us this week. With Bennacer's injury he and Zeroli will work with the first team".
