"È it was a triumph of sport", commented Francesco Bonanno, president of the Italian Paralympic Soccer Federation at the end of the weekend in Jesolo that hosted the Italian Team Championships for the fourth time. "We witnessed great challenges and we all had a great time. A thank you from the Federation I must address first of all to the teams and athletes, obviously to the Municipal Administration of Jesolo that hosted us for the fourth time and all the actors, entities and companies that allowed the realization of this great event of sport", added Bonanno.
The Marzotto Village, also this year è was the scene of the great challenges that animated the program and ended with the announcement of the winners. The title of Campioni d’Italia 2024 è went to the company Pohla Varese that was able to assert itself against ASD in Movimento with a lineup composed of Paolo De Florio, Angelita Alves, Roberto Gabutti, Vincenzo Bonvissuto and Luciano Gigante. Bronze medal for the La Barena team. For the Lombard formation this is a nice rematch, since last year it had finished in second place, beaten only in the final, confirming however a very high athletic level of its athletes.
Also rewarded were the athletes of the women’s singular where to prevail è was Angelita Alves (Pohla Varese) ahead of Silvana Vettorello (Calcio Veneto F D) and Laura Sabbioni (Insuperabili Ticino).
Over the weekend è also staged the first edition of the DIR (Relational Intellective Disabled) Championship, which determined the following order of classification: Puglia, Mimi Rodolfo Mazara, Asd Pro Sport Ravanusa and Asd Aias Pegaso Matera.
As an appetizer to the Italian team championships, Jesolo è was also the site of the "4 Nations" tournament, recognized by the’ITSF, which saw the triumph of the Italian national team, which beat Germany in the final with a score of 30 to 6. The other countries involved were Belgium and Switzerland. The "Città di Jesolo" Trophy, on the other hand, saw the pair formed by Andrea Mele – Morena Sganga win, coming in ahead of Luca Lucarelli – Angelo Alabiso and Giacomo Della Latta – Anna Carpani.
“Between the city administration and the Federation has è created an inseparable partnership – stressed Councillor Martina Borin – this event è become a tradition and we have every intention to continue it in the coming years. The collaboration is proving to be absolutely fruitful. Jesolo will be a European City of Sports in 2025, but above all it will be a promoter of inclusion. We are trying to increase these kinds of events and certainly this one fully represents it".
