Milan, Fonseca: "At one point we stopped playing"
Milan coach Paulo Fonseca bitterly commented on the San Siro defeat against Liverpool: "We played against Liverpool, a great team. We started the match well offensively and defensively, then we got two goals on a dead ball that changed the game. È changed the mental balance".
"In this kind of match you cannot make mistakes and details are crucial. Liverpool è more team than us, we have to be honest. We have to work to play smoothly for 70/80 minutes. After the second goal the team did not play".
The two goals taken from free kicks: "On the first goal we had a man on Van Dijk, we had prepared that. He was free, è true, but the centerbacks had to be caught with individual marking".
Leao’s difficulties: "We had prepared this in the little time we had but we only did it once or twice. We had to play on the right and then change the game and find Leao in the one-on-one, but we did not succeed".
Switching to 4-3-3: "I respect all opinions and I think we can play with different forms. Defensively we have to change something but if we are not strong collectively and individually we will not be able to improve. Sometimes we play 3 in midfield during the match. In the first half we missed the last pass but I think 4-2-3-1 is a module I like".
