Sensational turning point in Andy Carroll’s career
Clamorous breakthrough
Bordeaux owner Gérard Lopez announced in Sud Ouest on Monday that the Girondino club will announce this week the arrival of players who, at first glance, are not expected to serve in N2 (the fourth division of French soccer). Based on his resume, Andy Carroll certainly falls into this category.
After convincing him to join Amiens in the summer of 2023, John Williams, head of recruitment for the Bordeaux club, is reportedly close to repeating himself: the former England national (9 appearances) has è approached the Girondins in the last few hours. Only one detail would remain to be resolved.
During his career, Carroll (35) has played for Newcastle, Liverpool, West Ham and Reading, among others. He participated in the first four days of Ligue 2 with Amiens, making a start on Sept. 13 against Annecy, without scoring.
