McLaren, Oscar Piastri has no illusions but keeps his guard up
The words of Oscar Piastri
During the press conference for the presentation of the Singapore GP, McLaren driver Oscar Piastri, among other topics discussed, was blunt about his chances of contending with Lando Norris and Max Verstappen for the drivers’ championship.
"I don’t think much about the Drivers’ World Championship. For me to keep the lead in the Constructors è the main goal. I don't feel left out to win the title, but I would have to make more than 10 points every Gp compared to Max and Lando and that it can happen for seven races in a row is not è realistic. I have no illusions, but I will be ready to get into the fight if the opportunity presents itself. I have to be at a certain level with more consistency" began the Australian driver to the microphones of "Sky Sport F1".
"I experienced pleasant days after the victory in Baku. I’m proud of myself, even if we didn’t celebrate too much. Now we are thinking about Singapore, where we come with a good boost of confidence on a track that should be good for us. I haven't made life easy for myself in qualifying this year, but in terms of overtaking and holding up the pressure, I am satisfied. I have to work hard to iron out some details that can make a difference" added the McLaren driver.
"All I can say is that our moving wing was legal. We passed all the tests and I am very happy with that" concluded Oscar Piastri.
