Danilo Petrucci and the incredible record: the Terni centaur still can’t believe it
Incredible record for Danilo Petrucci
It's come in Race-1 of the Cremona Round, the fourth-last round of the 2024 World Superbike Championship, the first victory in the premier class of production derivatives for Danilo Petrucci. That of Saturday è a success that goes beyond the jubilation at the checkered flag, because it allows the centaur of the Barnk Spark Racing Team to set a new, incredible record.
Petrucci, in fact, è the first rider ever to win a race in Superbike, MotoGp, MotoAmerica and Dakar (in the latter case we refer to the single stage). Petrucci also won in Superstock 1000 and Superstock 600. No one before him had succeeded, demonstrating the competitiveness that 'Petrux' has shown throughout his career.
"Today è a good day, I am really very happy. I didn't quite realize it, if I have to be honest, I still don't believe it,'Sky Sports' – he told 'Sky Sports' – At one point I felt like the race wasn't going to end anymore, then there was the red flag and I was afraid that this might make all my efforts useless, but I did two calculations and I realized that two-thirds of the race had passed. It's been incredible".
The race, which officially ended after 17 laps, è was won by Petrucci ahead of Nicolò Bulega (Ducati Aruba.it) and the latter's teammate, Alvaro Bautista. Toprak Razgatlioglu (absent in Cremona) remains ahead of everyone in the overall standings with 365 points, Bulega chases at 330. Petrucci è the first of the independent team riders, with 215 points.
