Marc Marquez lets slip a bitter remark.
Marc Marquez doesn’t feel podium-worthy
It has been two weeks since his success in the San Marino and Rimini Riviera GP, but despite the fact that the Gp dell'Emilia Romagna is run on the same circuit, that of Misano Adriatico, Marc Marquez admits to feeling different sensations, which even lead him to lower the bar after his fourth place in the Sprint race won by Pecco Bagnaia.
"Today if we had started from the front row we would still have finished fourth – è the bitter consideration of the Catalan centaur -. Our race pace allowed us to aim for that. So we have to be satisfied and we know that the fourth position will be the’objective also tomorrow".
"We crashed today to try to improve – added Marquez himself, referring specifically to the crash during qualifying -, I don’t feel perfect on these tires and we have to keep trying to grow and get closer to Pecco and Martin".
After Saturday’s Sprint, Marc Marquez confirmed third place in the overall standings, with 265 points to his credit, eight more than his immediate pursuer, Enea Bastianini. Ahead of him, however, are the rainbow leader Jorge Martin, at 321, and the MotoGp bi-champion Pecco Bagnaia, with 317 points.
