Inter-Milan, Inzaghi and Fonseca’s moves: how many surprises
Record takings for a Derby anticipated as never before
The wait is coming to an end. At 8:45 p.m., in a record-breaking San Siro (sold out, expected takings over seven million euros), Inter and AC Milan will compete in Derby number 240 in history. The two teams get there in very different ways. L'Inter è in confidence, after the draw with Manchester City, while Milan è their backs to the wall with Fonseca risking (perhaps) the bench.
The two coaches have studied particular strategies for the extracittadina. In the Nerazzurri’s house, Inzaghi will find Dimarco and Lautaro Martinez again. The former è vital to the Nerazzurri’s offensive game. His crosses could hurt the Rossoneri defense a lot. On the field, from the first minute, Lautaro Martinez. The Nerazzurri captain, still without a goal this early in the season, wants to get unblocked against the Rossoneri (eight goals scored in his career against the Diavolo).
Also watch out for Fonseca. The Portuguese, under indictment for negative results in these early outings, has decided to change form. Against Inter, space, from the start, for both Morata and Abraham. Two strikers to try to unhinge the Nerazzurri's excellent defense. A super offensive Milan to try to have more ball management.
The feeling è that it will be a very close Derby. Both teams need to bring home the win. A defeat would be difficult for both coaches to accept. Perhaps more so for Fonseca who, according to some, è obliged to a convincing result against Inter to keep his bench.
