Max Verstappen zeroes in on the FIA: “F1 will go on without me”
A full-scale threat, which could change the history of Formula 1.
Max Verstappen against the FIA, with a statement whose weight could affect the history of Formula 1 in no small way. The Dutchman finished the Singapore Grand Prix in second place, beaten soundly by Lando Norris. His statements at the end of the day, however, focused on the federation, with the not even ill-concealed prospect of anticipating his own departure from the Circus by quite a bit.
The reference è to the recent penalty imposed against him by the FIA for using too much colorful language in Thursday’s press conference. And at the end of Sunday’s race, Verstappen always chose the official press conference to get more than a pebble off his shoe. "Not being able to be himself, better not to say anything. But nobody wants that, right? Otherwise you become a robot", he è complained after some previous extremely stringent answers.
"I am not able to say how seriously the FIA takes me. Però in my opinion when è too much è motorsport and Formula 1 will go on without me. I, in turn, will è always remain myself. And if I had to stop racing, there would be no problem", thundered Verstappen.
"Situations like this affect my future. Being yourself è impossible, or you run into things like this. But at this moment in my career I am tired of facing them,” Verstappen insisted. “Winning Grand Prix and championships in Formula 1 è nice. But after you've done it, you also want to have a chance to have some fun outside the single-seater".
