MLS, Leo Messi’s Inter Miami mocked at last second
The Inter Miami can still reach the points record
.
A real hoax. Inter Miami returns home from its challenge against New York City, at Yankee Stadium (44,738 spectators), with a draw (1-1), when the victory seemed to be done. Having taken the lead at 75' with Campana (an action inspired by a classy play by Messi), Inter Miami è was reached, at 95', by a flick by Sands.
Interestingly, è it was Sands’ first career goal. The Rye, New York, native had never found his way to goal in 117 professional games. Bitter chewer Tata Martino, Inter Miami coach: "We played a good game, we should have won. If the referee had whistled the foul committed on Yannick Bright, we would have won the game 1-0", his outburst reported by ESPN.
The Inter Miami coach then pointed the finger at the match director, who was not considered up to the situation: "The team did not è lack anything, but the match è lacked a good referee", Tata Martino himself made known.
Despite the half-step, Inter Miami can still break the Major League Soccer record for the most points earned in a single season. To do so, it must win 10 points in the last four regular season matches.
