Alex Meret knocked out, former national team doctor unspools on recovery time
Professor Castellacci’s opinion on Alex Meret’s injury
It could last as long as 30 or 40 days when Napoli will have to do without Alex Meret, who was injured during Saturday night’s match between the partenopei and Juventus at the latter’s home. Speaking out in this regard, in an interview with 'Kiss Kiss Napoli', è Professor Enrico Castellacci, former medical director of the national team and part of the world champion staff in 2006.
"If the injury è of second degree the times are a può longer, we are around thirty or forty days – explained Professor Castellacci, who specializes in Orthopedics and Traumatology, Physiokinesiotherapy and Sports Medicine -. It also depends on whether the second-degree injury will beà confirmed in subsequent checks".
"Whatò happens to a goalkeeper è differs from what happens to field players,” the former Italian national team doctor further explained. "The injuries are also different, the goalkeeper makes sudden movements in laterality. There are more specific injuries depending on the role the player plays".
It is therefore looking like a rather long period for coach Antonio Conte without his starting goalkeeper. At the moment, the goal è entrusted to Elia Caprile, designated deputy at the beginning of the season: in the rose there'è also Nikita Contini, but it is not excluded that Napoli intervenes on the free market.
