Como’s blitz in Bergamo: 2-3 over an unrecognizable Atalanta
A day later than expected comes an equally surprising success.
Winning and convincing Como in Bergamo, where the Larians won their first victory in the current Serie A by beating an almost unrecognizable version of Atalanta seen during the week against Fiorentina and Arsenal 2-3. The Bergamasks, who had yet to lose in the completely renovated Gewiss Stadium, took the lead through Davide Zappacosta and then collapsed under blows from Strefezza, Nico Paz and Fadera all scored in less than a quarter of an hour.
In the match played on Tuesday evening after Monday’s downpour, in the first few minutes we seem to see the "usual" Atalanta: Zappacosta and Bellanova try on the lanes, Audero walls on Retegui, then comes the orobic lead. Zappacosta signed it himself, who on 18' scored with a personal feat. The goal però irretrievably changes the game in favor of Como, which builds at least three sharp chances to equalize.
The guest goal, well-deserved, arrived in the first minute of the second half: Strefezza put it on the scoreboard, with a splendid right on Sergi Roberto’s brilliant heel. And already at 54' è Como doubled, when Nico Paz went to the conclusion deflected decisively by Kolasinac. Atalanta's reaction wasn't there, so much so that at 58' Fadera received the ball from Paz, set up De Roon and tripled.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s pinwheel of changes was not enough to straighten out the game, despite attempts by Kossounou and Cuadrado. Indeed, only Carnesecchi denies Paz and Strefezza the goal of the poker, then in the recovery è the young Vlahovic to get the penalty that Lookman transforms. Como exits the relegation zone and even moves to within one point of Atalanta, which currently has the worst defense in the entire Serie A.
