NBA, MVP Derrick Rose left without a team
MVP of the US league at only 21 years old, è free agent
Derrick Rose è without a team. In 2011, at just 21 years old, he became the NBA's youngest MVP. Thirteen years later, with many injuries affecting his career, he finds himself a free agent. Memphis, in fact, has decided not to confirm him on the roster for the 2024/25 season.
Indeed, statistics in hand, last season in the Grizzlies’ jersey was not very positive for Derrick Rose: only 24 games played with just over 16 minutes of court time and an average of eight points. Honestly, too little to hope for reappointment.
Nearing age 36, Derrick Rose has no intention of stopping playing. It seems he is already looking for a new franchise, perhaps one that can fight for that NBA title he has always dreamed of but never managed to win.
Derrick Rose’s career could have been very different. Unfortunately, the serious injuries he suffered, as well as some revisable off-court choices, limited him a great deal physically, forcing him to play less explosively and, as a result, less "like Derrick Rose". To be seen who will want to give him a chance, perhaps at minimum wage. The veteran MVP does not want to raise the white flag.
