A draw on the Europa League debut for Roma, which drew 1-1 with Athletic Bilbao on the first day of the new single-round format, still collecting a useful point to move up the standings, led by Lazio cousins.
At the Stadio Olimpico, where the Curva Sud fans welcomed the team amid booing, in the first half the Giallorossi got off to a slow start but still managed to unlock the result at Dovbyk (32') on an assist from Angelino.
In the resumption, the Basques grew and when it seemed to be over they equalized the blows with Paredes’ (85') header on the development of a set kick.
