Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini's adventure in the women's doubles draw at the WTA 1000 in Beijing begins in the best possible way. The Italian pair, in fact, defeated in the opener the duo formed by Cristina Bucsa and Monica Niculescu with the score of 6-2 7-5, in just under ninety minutes of play.
There are four breaks in the first four games of the match, with Errani/Paolini twice leading first 2-0 and then 3-1. The Azzurri managed to manage the lead well and extend it in the eighth game, where they again snatched service from Bucsa and Niculescu, also ending the partial 6-2.
The second set started uphill for the two Italian players, as the Spanish and Romanian found the break in the third game. The winners of the Olympic gold medal in Paris 2024 in the women doubles managed to bring themselves back to parity just ahead, but Bucsa and Niculescu again managed to break serve going also to serve to extend the match to the third set.
