Roma overturns Venezia, Cutrone drags Como with Verona
Roma-Venice 2-1 and Come Verona 3-2
After Lazio’s external blow on the field of Torino, Sunday’s sixth day of Serie A continued with home victories for Roma and Como. The Giallorossi upended Venezia (2-1) while the Biancoblù won 3-2 against Verona.
At the Stadio Olimpico in Rome to go ahead è Venezia with Pohjanpalo who in the end of the first half rebounded into the net a Busio conclusion that ended up on the post. In the second half, however, Roma turned everything around: on 74’ Cristante evened the score with a shot from outside the box deflected by Busio; nine minutes later Pisilli signed the overtake with a header from the development of a corner.
At Como’s Sinigaglia, the hosts went ahead at the end of the first half with Cutrone beating Montipò with a right-footed shot deflected by Tchatchoua. In the second half Verona equalized on a penalty kick with Lazovic but at 72’ the Larians, also taking advantage of numerical superiority for the expulsion of Suslov among the Scaligeri, went back ahead with Cutrone, who signed his personal double. In the final Belotti drops the tris with an easy tap-in but in full recovery there’è s also room for the goal of Lambourde that shortens the distance.
In the standings, Roma climbs to 9 points, in ninth place, ahead of Como, which moves up to 8. Verona and Venice remain firm on 6 and 4 points, respectively.
