Antoine Griezmann says goodbye to the French national team
Antoine Griezmann announced his farewell to the French national team through a video posted on his Instagram profile. "&It is with a heart full of memories that I close this chapter of my life. Thank you for this magnificent tricolor adventure and see you soon" wrote the transalpine striker.
With the Bleus jersey, 'Le Petit Diable' scored 44 goals and provided 38 assists in 137 total appearances. Only Olivier Giroud, Thierry Henry and Kylian Mbappé have scored more than Griezmann in France's history, and only Hugo Lloris and Lilian Thuram have amassed more appearances.
Griezmann has won a World Cup (Russia 2018) and a Nations League (Italy 2020-2021) with France, as well as two runners-up finishes at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the 2016 European Championship in France.
