Luna Rossa, Francesco Bruni satisfied, James Spithill surprised
The Words of Francesco Bruni and James Spithill
The third day of racing in the Louis Vuitton Cup final è ended in perfect parity, with Ineos Britannia winning the fifth race, while Luna Rossa tied the series by winning the sixth challenge.
At the microphones of the various media, Prada Pirelli team helmsman Francesco Bruni bluntly analyzed the team’s performance in today’s two races: "The Boat sailed well today. We made a small mistake in the first race, which we could have handled better at the start. Overall è it went very well. The conditions today were ideal for racing. To get ahead we have to continue this wayì and try to crush them in the next races".
In addition to the Palermo native, the other helmsman James Spithill also wanted to analyze the two races of the day: "It was important to be able to tie in the sixth race. Great credit goes to the guys, who repeated the maneuver at the start and executed it perfectly. It was crucial to keep Ineos out toward the port side, then we executed very clean maneuvers. Every day we change a couple of little things that can bring benefits. It's amazing how even a small tweak can guarantee you gain so many meters".
Luna Rossa and Ineos Britannia will return to the water on Tuesday, Oct. 1 for the seventh and eighth races. As a reminder, the final è best of thirteen races, the first to win seven will land in the challenge for the America’s Cup against the holders Emirates Team New Zealand.
