È the draw has been made for the draw for the 'Rolex Shanghai Masters', the penultimate Masters 1000 of the season, scheduled for Oct. 2-13. Jannik Sinner, world number one and seeded leader, was not particularly lucky, with a path full of pitfalls.

The South Tyrolean, who will receive a bye in the first round as the top seed, will debut against a qualifier or Japan’s Taro Daniel in the second round. In the third round possible cross with Argentine Tomas Etcheverry, seeded No. 31, while in the round of 16 dangerous challenge with one between Frenchman Arthur Fils, seeded No. 21, and U.S. Ben Shelton, seeded No. 14.

The quarterfinals could feature yet another confrontation with Daniil Medvedev, fifth seed, while in the semifinals awaiting the Italian should be Carlos Alcaraz, third seed. Finally, in a possible final the potential opponent could be Alexander Zverev, second seed, or Novak Djokovic, fourth seed.

As for the other Italians involved in Shanghai, Lorenzo Musetti, number 15 in the seeding, will challenge either Belgian David Goffin or Australian James Duckworth in the second round, Flavio Cobolli, number 28 in the seeding, will face either Stan Wawrinka or Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the second round, and Matteo Arnaldi, number 29 in the seeding, will make his debut against Frenchman Adrian Mannarino or a qualifier.

Finally, there will also be an all-Italian derby between Fabio Fognini and Luciano Darderi, Matteo Berrettini will face Australian Christopher O'Connell, Lorenzo Sonego awaits a qualifier and Luca Nardi will play with Frenchman Alexandre Muller.
