Red Moon-Ineos Britannia 4-4

It ends with a smile for Luna Rossa on the fifth day of competition in the Louis Vuitton Cup finals. After retiring in the seventh race due to yet another breakage, the Italian boat manages to repair the damage and wins the eighth round against Ineos Britannia, bringing the challenge back to a draw (4-4).

In the seventh match, at the turn of the buoy, a violent imprue damaged a fairing (aerodynamic cover) of the deck and the bow wind sensor of the Team Prada Pirelli boat, which  was forced to retire, 'giving'the point to the British crew, which goes up 4-3.

In the eighth challenge, thanks to great work by the shore team, Luna Rossa manages to repair the damage and race, dominating from start to finish. Britannia tried more than once to catch up but Max Sirena’s team did nothing wrong and crossed the finish line with a 16-second gap, signing the 4-4.

The next event of the Louis Vuitton Cup è scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 2, with the ninth and tenth races.
