Champions League: Bayer Leverkusen-Milan 1-0

Despite a good number of chances, especially after going into a disadvantage, AC Milan collects its second defeat in as many Champions League matches losing at home to Bayer Leverkusen, to which the goal, which eventually proved decisive, of Boniface at the beginning of the second half is enough to keep full points in the standings.

The start seemed to be promising for Milan, which after not even a minute approached the goal with an action on the Leao-Reijnders axis that, however, was not materialized effectively, but from there on; onwards è the Bayer to take the lead, putting fear in the host defense several times and even going to score on 21' with Boniface, a goal forò canceled by VAR for offside by the same Nigerian. Grimaldo and Frimpong tried, from lì to the end of the first half, in the space of a few seconds at 28', then again the Spaniard at 35' and the Dutchman at 39', but Maignan avoided in all cases that the ball crossed the goal line.

The French goalkeeper, however, can&#39t do anything in minute 51: the Rossoneri defense is found unprepared on the filter to Frimpong, who in turn finds Boniface very free for the conclusion from close range. Some doubt about the position there'è even in this case, but from the VAR Room comes the green light: è 1-0 Bayer.

The goal è the "slap" that AC Milan needed to wake up: they came dangerously close to Hradecky first Reijnders at 56' and then Abraham a minute later, without, however, going for goal. In 62'Morata takes over from the Englishman and in the next 10 minutes scares the opposing goalkeeper at least a couple of times, but the most sensational chance happens in the 82nd minute on the foot of Theo Hernandez, whose left-footed shot hits the crossbar after passing the extreme defender.

The Rossoneri&#39s final forcing was futile, and more than four minutes of recovery time allotted by referee Scharer were not enough for Fonseca&#39s men to change the score. After two games, Milan remains at 0, against Club Brugge on Oct. 22 will already be decisive in order not to see the qualification train get too far away.
