NBA, Simone Fontecchio ready to take on Detroit
In his third year in the NBA, Blue is aiming high
Fontecchio è ready and looking forward to the new NBA season, the third of his career. Reconfirmed by the Pistons, the Azure has completely resolved his foot injury (he had surgery last May) and, now, he just wants to thank, with great performances on the court, the franchise that believed in him, namely Detroit.
According to the media in the city of Detroit, the Italian is expected to be one of the starting five players for coach Bickerstaff, who just arrived from Michigan. Fontecchio proved in the 16 total games he played last year with the Pistons (after playing the first part of the season with the Jazz) that he is a complete player, with points in his hands and an excellent shot from distance.
Characteristics that make him perfect for Coach Bickerstaff’s style of play. In short, the best small wing on the Pistons’ roster and, for that reason, in pole position to be in Detroit’s quintet.
Now in his third year in the NBA, the former Virtus Bologna and Olimpia Milano, among others, feels he is now ready to make the ultimate leap forward and become a true NBA player. Doing well in the United States and then becoming available for the national team again. Fontecchio knows that this will be a pivotal season for his career.
