Florian Thauvin still dreams of Milan

Udinese striker Florian Thauvin gave a long interview to SportWeek microphones: "I think I am moreù strong. Stronger because I have more experience and I learned another way of playing, more inside the field. It wasnè t easy, I used to start moreù outside to center myself only later, but now I am better and feel moreù complete".

"Where do I prefer to play? Up front, the more the better, so I have more passing options – added the 31-year-old Frenchman -. Three words to describe me? Dribbling. Fantasy. Goals. As a person? Respectful. Humble. Hardworking".

Then he revealed a market backstory about Milan: "After eight years at Marseille I was mentally tired. I needed to disconnect, do something different. If I had other offers? Yes: Marseille had offered me another five-year contract, and then Lyon had called me, I had talked to Giuntoli, who was at Napoli, to Maldini, who wanted me at AC Milan, the team that would have been, and still is, my dream. Even Atletico Madrid wanted me. But after Covid all the clubs were in a difficult economic situation, while a’really important offer" came to me from Mexico.

"In June my contract with Udinese expires. I am fine here, really, but I always said that a top player aspires to play at the highest level. I don’t know how it will go, but for sure I feel like a top club player" concluded Thauvin.
