Jannik Sinner spoke at a press conference after his victory with Novak Djokovic in the final at the Shanghai Masters 1000 that gave him his seventh title of the season: "Today è was a very special day, for several reasons. Having Roger in the stands, Carlos and Juan Carlos, and the atmosphere that was created was very, very nice. Playing against Novak, in a final è always very, very difficult, so I am happy with how I handled this kind of situation”.

“This year è has been very, very difficult for me because of other circumstances and in some moments I lost a little bit of my smile because I had some problems off the court, which sometimes come back to me,” the South Tyrolean later admitted. But I tried to enjoy myself as best as I could on the court. And, of course, success è something great. So, I just try to stay very calm and don&#39t mind if I miss some shots or if sometimes I&#39m unlucky, I just try to keep pushing with the best energy I can".

"I try to control what I can control, and that è definitely the mind, and also the physical aspect that you can control,” explained the world number one. People think that by winning or being successful you don&#39t have any problems, but that&#39s not true, because the situation I&#39m in now off the court, of course, is not è comfortable. During this time I have learned that success will never change me as a person, or as a player".

"Physically I feel ready to play for a longer period at the highest possible level. Mentally I am also ready to accept any difficult situation on the court, and I think this is the biggest step forward I have made".

"I try to stay as calm as possible and keep working hard, no matter if the week è good or bad, but I try to improve every day, every chance I get, trying new things, trying to see new things, at worst seeing what works and what doesn’t work. I feel this has had a big impact for me this year and I hope it will help me for next year as well,&#39quot; concluded Sinner.
