Ambra Sabatini’s new challenge starts from Livorno

Ambra Sabatini, the Paralympic sprinter who made Italy dream with her gold in the 100-meter T63 at the 2020 Tokyo Games and despair with the unfortunate epilogue of the Paris 2024 race, has decided to embark on a new phase of her sports career.

The champion, after splendid years spent in Rome at the Castelporziano headquarters of the Fiamme Gialle sports group, has chosen to move to Livorno, the city where she has many emotional ties and where she will seek the ideal conditions to best prepare for the next four-year period that will lead her toward the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympics.

"This is a new beginning for me, full of challenges and changes. The choice of Livorno allows me to be close to my loved ones and create a positive and stimulating environment in view of the upcoming sports goals,” said Ambra Sabatini. “Los Angeles 2028 is not just a goal, but a path to be lived intensely, and I want to face it with the same determination with which I have overcome all the challenges of my life".

In addition to the 100 meters flat, a discipline in which she has been a protagonist and in which she still aims to improve her personal world record, Ambra announced a new challenge: the long jump. "I have already started visualizing this new discipline and I have good feelings about it. The idea of adding the long jump came from the desire to challenge myself even more, to explore new possibilities, and to grow both as an athlete and as a person" added Ambra.

The change of technical staff, after years of a happy association with coach Pasquale Porcelluzzi, and the decision to rely on Fabrizio Mori, from Livorno and world gold medalist in the 400 hurdles (Seville 1999), who is also a member of the Fiamme Gialle sports group, represent an important step for Ambra toward a future full of new possibilities. "I will always be grateful to Pasquale for what we shared in the early part of my career. Deeply loving sport, and the ability it has to transform difficulties into opportunities, I now see in the collaboration with Fabrizio a transformation that will coincide with something beautiful" concluded the athlete, with a look full of energy and positivity towards the future.

Ambra Sabatini’s journey to Los Angeles has begun, with a promise to communicate as soon as possible what will be the sports venue of her athletics training in Livorno.
