New injury in the Genoa household. After Koni De Winter, who suffered a muscle problem on Monday in a training session with Belgium, Pierluigi Gollini also stops. The Rossoblù goalkeeper, in fact, will be forced to undergo surgery, as communicated by the Ligurian club through an official note.
"Genoa CFC announces that Pierluigi Gollini will be subjected on Thursday to surgery – we read there – for the’removal of an adipose neoformation in the right peri-trochanteric region that as a result of the role-related traumas has caused inflammation and soreness".
It is difficult to determine the recovery time, which will be more clear after the surgery. In any case, it appears rather unlikely that the former Napoli and Atalanta player will be able to recover for the challenge with Bologna, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19, at 3 p.m. at the 'Ferraris'.
In place of Gollini è ready Nicola Leali, who has already collected two appearances in the Coppa Italia: in the 32nd final in the narrow victory against Reggiana and in the round of 16 in the derby defeat after penalty kicks against Sampdoria.
