Six Kings Slam, Carlos Alcaraz: all easy with Rune, now Nadal
Carlos Alcaraz-Holger Rune 6-4 6-2
After Jannik Sinner’s crushing victory over Daniil Medvedev (6-0 6-3), Carlos Alcaraz responded with a clear success against Holger Rune in the exhibition match valid for the quarterfinals of the Six Kings Slam. The Spaniard, in fact, ruled the Dane in two sets (6-4 6-2) after just over an hour.
In the first set Rune held on until 4-4. Here the balance is broken in favor of Alcaraz, who converts the second break point of the set and goes to serve for the first partial: the world number two does not tremble and closes it for 6-4.
In the second set, Alcaraz runs rampant: breaks Rune off serve in the opening game and confirms the lead (2-0), repeating the break in the fifth game (4-1). Rune holds serve with pride in the seventh game (2-5) but nothing can; in the eighth, with the Murcian filing the case at the third useful match point.
Carlos Alcaraz thus enters the semifinals in Riyadh where he will face Rafael Nadal, in an all-Spanish derby. On the other side of the scoreboard will face Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.
