L'Atalanta turns 117: Luca Percassi between past and future

October 17 è is a special date for Atalanta, that of its founding, dating back to 1907. In 117 years of history, there have been many moments to remember, but è especially in the last few years that the Orobic club has made important steps that have allowed it to establish itself not only at the level of Italian soccer, but also in the rest of Europe, as evidenced by the Champions League quarterfinals reached in 2020 and, above all, the success in the 2023/24 edition of the Europa League.

Luca Percassi, Nerazzurri CEO, hopes, however, that the best is yet to come, and he says this by addressing the supporters directly: "The expectations of the fans are to be managed,” he said during an interview on Radio TV Serie A with RDS, “we always try to remember who we are. It's legitimate that when results are achieved, expectations are raised".

"For us,” Percassi junior added, “the goal è to try, with so many difficulties, to maintain the balances that guarantee the future of the company. The goal of my dadà (Antonio, current president of Atalanta, ed.) and the Pagliuccas è is to have a healthy company. We try to invest and never back out, on the market again this year we spent more than 130 million and with the stadium è it was the same".

"Toni D’Amico, after Scamacca’s injury, è been exceptional – he further explained – and proved himself capable of being able to find a replacement in record time, we lost the center forward of the national team, but we immediately managed to replace him with a striker who is giving us great satisfaction".

"It’s nice to know that companies of our size can see in Atalanta a reference company from which they can take inspiration,” Percassi continued. “We know that the management of a company is something very complex, every month and every year there are new challenges and new adventures, so there is a great sense of responsibility for what we do. We know very well who we are, what we have built, what è our size as a club and as a society".
