Shooting, Italy party in World Cup: one gold and three silvers
Four medals for Italy
The Italian team traveling to New Delhi, India, for the ISSF 2024 World Cup Final è took several satisfactions, collecting as many as four medals, one of them gold and three silver. A result that satisfies in no small part the representatives of a discipline that, at the Paris Olympic Games, contributed one gold, two silver and one bronze.
Winning the most precious metal was Tammaro Cassandro (fourth in Paris) in the Men’s Skeet, while the three silver medals were won by Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti, both in the Skeet, and by Erica Sessa in the Women’s Trap.
"After the bronze in the Cup Final in Larnaca in 2021, this gold is a great comfort to me,” said Cassandro. “I needed an important confirmation like this, especially after the disappointment of the fourth place at the Games this summer".
"I am happy with the performance in both the qualification and the final and can close the 2024 season with a smile. Especially becauseé I can dedicate this result to my wife Samara and my son Francis who, more than anyone else, suffered from my absences from home".
