Ferraris dominate Austin free practice
In the’only free practice session of the U.S. Grand Prix at the Austin circuit, Ferrari dominated with Carlos Sainz setting the fastest time just 21 thousandths ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc.
Third at 253 thousandths è is three-time reigning world champion and world leader Max Verstappen on the Red Bull, who preceded the two McLarens of Lando Norris, fourth at 266 thousandths, and Oscar Piastri, fifth at 306.
Serta and seventh were the two Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, while Sergio Perez, in the second Red Bull, è sixteenth.
The weekend’s schedule includes Saturday’s sprint race, preceded by sprint qualifying on the Italian night, and qualifying for Sunday’s Grand Prix.
