Jerez, two Italians ahead of Razgatlioglu

Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Motocorsa Racing Team) returns to the lead in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship and does so by putting everyone behind him at the end of FP2 of the Prometeon Round of Spain at Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto. The Rimini rider mounts the SCQ tire and is 150 thousandths ahead of Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), followed in the combined by Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team).

Rinaldi signed a 1’39.591 putting him behind Bulega, who on the last lap of the afternoon session improved his morning time. Fourth time in the combined for Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team), eighth for Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven) in 1’39.966. Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) rounds out the top ten and does better than world champion Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), who sets a 1’40.111.

Razgatlioglu at the end of the day è third but è one of the few who did not improve during the afternoon session. In FP1 he signed a 1’39.766 while his boxmate Michael van der Mark (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) è sixth in the combined. Ninth time for Garrett Gerloff (Bonovo Action BMW), 15° for Scott Redding (Bonovo Action BMW).

Jonathan Rea (Pata Prometeon Yamaha) at the end of the day has the fifth time: in 1’39.874 his è the best Yamaha. 13° chrono for boxmate Andrea Locatelli, 16° for Dominique Aegerter (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) and 21° for Alessandro Delbianco, who crashed in Turn 1 in the early stages of FP2. Bradley Ray (Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team) è 19°, Philipp Oettl (GMT94 Yamaha) 22° while wildcards Kyle Ryde (OMG Racing) and Luca Bernardi (Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team) are 24° and 27° respectively.
