Sprint Race Phillip Island: Jorge Martin wins and runs away, Pecco Bagnaia at -16
Another masterful performance for the leader of the ranking.
Jorge Martin escapes in the duel with Pecco Bagnaia after the Phillip Island Sprint Race, which precedes the MotoGP Australian Grand Prix by 24 hours. An almost perfect Saturday for the Spaniard of Ducati Pramac, who now flies to +16 in the standings over his great rival for the title. Also on the podium Marc Marquez and Enea Bastianini.
For Martin, it was a sumptuous and flawless Saturday, right from the start: after a brief resistance to Marc Marquez on the start straight, the MotoGP standings leader escaped and never saw his victory in jeopardy. Bagnaia, brought initially to second place, suffers in the course of the race the attacks of the same Marquez and Bastianini having to settle for fourth place.
Fear and relief for what happened three laps from the end between Marco Bezzecchi and Maverick Viñales, long in the fight for fifth and sixth position and tumbled to the ground after a collision at full speed;: no particular concern for their physical condition.
