The news had been anticipated by Serbian TV but now è official: Novak Djokovic has announced that he will not play the Rolex Paris Masters, the last Masters 1000 of the season scheduled in Paris-Bercy.
In his place in the draw (which will once again be led by Jannik Sinner as the number one seed) enters U.S. teenager Alex Michelsen.
"Unfortunately, I will not be there,‖ he wrote in an Instagram story.
Sorry for everyone who was hoping to see me. I wish all the players, sponsors, organizers and fans a great tournament. I have great memories of my seven wins and hope to return next year".
Djokovic will now have no choice but to cross his fingers and hope he is not overtaken in the race for the eight spots for the Atp Finals in Turin.
