Paolo Lorenzi has no doubts

During an intervention on the program "Tennis Talk on Supertennis", former Italian tennis player Paolo Lorenzi è returned to the rivalry between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, who have been the great protagonists of the 2024 season with two Slams won each. More specifically, the Rome native è dwelt on the latest results obtained by the two players, which showed greater continuity on the part of the South Tyrolean than the Spaniard.

"Alcaraz watched Sinner’s match in Shanghai. You can see very well how the two right now are studying each other. It makes an impression that right now it is still Jannik who is chasing. It's true that he è world number one, but he has won fewer Slams than his opponent. In recent years è it has been more him studying Carlos to be able to beat him" began the former Italian tennis player.

"Carlos did all this before Sinner and è became number one early. He took him as a role model, but now this balance is shifting in favor of Jannik. He is always looking for something to improve, as he is always trying to change something in every tournament. There'è always that little improvement aimed at seeking perfection. There are many players who do not do that" added the Rome native.

"Based on recent results, in order to beat Sinner right now Alcaraz needs his best tennis, while the same does not apply to the Italian," opined Paolo Lorenzi.

In the recent Six Kings Slam exhibition tournament in Riyadh, the South Tyrolean beat the Spaniard in three sets, ending a streak of three consecutive knockouts.
