F1, Brazil GP: Lewis Hamilton ready to celebrate Ayrton Senna
A beautiful tribute 30 years after the Brazilian’s passing
Lewis Hamilton has a special relationship with Brazil. In 2008, at Interlagos itself, he won the first of his seven World Championship titles, beating home idol Felipe Massa. Since 2022, è he has been an honorary citizen of the country. Last year he è presented himself at the paddocks with an outfit completely dedicated to his great idol Ayrton Senna.
In short, right that it is the Mercedes driver’s turn to celebrate the Brazilian champion, who passed away exactly 30 years ago, in the best possible way. Lewis Hamilton will do it in style, that is, driving one of the most iconic single-seaters in F1 history and, of course, with a very strong connection to the Brazilian star.
Lewis Hamilton will beà behind the wheel of the legendary McLaren MP4/58, the single-seater with which Ayrton Senna won his second World Champion title in 1990 at the end of a spectacular duel with French driver Alain Prost (then in a Ferrari).
The McLaren will take to the track on Saturday, at the end of qualifying, and it will be Lewis Hamilton himself who will run it on his home circuit, so as to pay tribute in the best possible way to a champion who è is still in the hearts of millions of Formula 1 fans. It won't be the only event to celebrate the Brazilian. Interlagos is preparing to experience a special F1 weekend in memory of Ayrton Senna.
