Matteo Berrettini makes like Lorenzo Musetti

Matteo Berrettini makes like Lorenzo Musetti. Following the Carrara-based tennis player's choice to withdraw from the Belgrade ATP 250, scheduled for Nov. 3-9, comes the Roman tennis player's forfeit to the Metz ATP 250, which will be held the same week.

For both Musetti and Berrettini, both of whom are coming off premature elimination at the Paris-Bercy Masters 1000 with German Jan-Lennard Struff and Australian Alexei Popyrin, respectively, the decision seems to have been made in terms of Davis Cup.

The two Azzurri, in fact, preferred to rest ahead of the Malaga Finals, scheduled for Nov. 19-24, where Volandri’s men will face captain Giullermo Coria’s Argentina in the quarterfinals, which should count on Sebastian Baez, Francisco Cerundolo, Tomas Martin Etcheverry in singles and Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni in doubles.

With a Flavio Cobolli not at his best, having withdrawn from Paris-Bercy due to a shoulder problem,è it is very likely that Volandri will call up both Lorenzo Musetti and Matteo Berrettini, in addition, of course, to number one Jannik Sinner in singles. For doubles there should be Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori.
