Ferrari, Fred Vasseur sees the glass half full
An overall disappointing weekend for Ferrari in Brazil: Charles Leclerc finished fifth, while Carlos Sainz è failed to finish his race. After the race, team principal Frederic Vasseur carefully analyzed the race of the Maranello Reds.
"Honestly we could have scored more points, without Sainz’s retirement and that early pit stop by Leclerc that put the whole race on an uphill climb. We made choices in terms of tire pressures, and those didn’t work out for us, as in the many Safety Car and red flag restarts we struggled to “light” the tires".
However, Vasseur sees the glass half full: "We had to make some choices that didn’t really go in our direction, but in terms of the championship this weekend was not è a disaster, also considering yesterday’s race. We come back stronger for Las Vegas".
Ferrari è 36 points behind McLaren and still thinking about the constructors’ title: "It will be like this until Abu Dhabi, there will be a good fight between the top 4 teams and today there was also Alpine. I want to congratulate them becauseé they have been through a difficult season and to get such a result in these conditions è really crucial".
