Various movements

Various movements in tricolor key in the women’s world rankings released Monday by the WTA, immediately after the recent WTA 250 tournaments in Hong Kong, Jiujiang and Merida, with the WTA Finals in Riyadh already underway. Also this week, there are three Italian tennis players among the world’s top 100, which includes Anna Kalinskaya, the girlfriend of Jannik Sinner, who lost three positions slipping to No. 14.

The tricolor leader remains Jasmine Paolini, who consolidates fourth place, her best ranking ever, at the end of an extraordinary season, enhanced by her first two Slam finals (Roland Garros and Wimbledon) and her first title in a "1000" tournament (Dubai). In the October 28 ranking, Paolini equaled the record set by Francesca Schiavone on January 31, 2011, reaching the highest position ever touched by an Italian player.

Immediately after her, stable Elisabetta Cocciaretto at 54° place, while Lucia Bronzetti slips back one place, now standing at number 78. Sara Errani, a veteran of the Italian team and still in the top ten in doubles, loses fourteen positions, momentarily dropping out of the top 100 and settling at 103° place.

Thanks to the quarterfinals in Jiujiang, Martina Trevisan moves up nine positions, returning to the rankings at number 127, after having exited the top 100 seven weeks ago, where she had remained for 32 consecutive months. Lucrezia Stefanini, thanks to her eighth-place finish in Merida, gains ten places, ranking at No. 153. On the other hand, Giorgia Pedone, now at number 206, loses one position, and Nuria Brancaccio, who drops to number 216, loses five.

Finally, Nicole Fossa Huergo advances thirteen positions to reach her best career ranking at number 278, thanks to the points won in the last $25,000 ITF in Santa Margherita di Pula. Camilla Rosatello also recovers 36 positions, moving up to number 355 after reaching the quarterfinals in the $40,000 ITF in Nantes, closing out the Italian top ten.
