To date, Joel Embiid has yet to play a single game in the new NBA season. Complicated by some knee problems (finally resolved) and an altercation with a reporter that will eventually cost him a three-game suspension by the NBA.

In the postgame showdown with Memphis, Joel Embiid argued with a reporter from a local Philadelphia media outlet, who was guilty of accusing the 76ers center of unprofessionalism and bringing up family issues.
