MotoGP, Casey Stoner already goes hard on the choice of Ducati
Former Ducati great Casey Stoner in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport sharply rejected the Borgo Panigale manufacturer’s choice to rely on Marc Marquez and not Jorge Martin in the upcoming MotoGP season. Martin, who è a step away from winning the World Championship with the satellite team Pramac, will ride the Aprilia next year.
"It's a bad blow, even more so for Martin, who over the years è always been loyal to Ducati… I don't think it's fair. Unfortunately, è the way Ducati works and that is why they have now lost so many riders", are the harsh statements of the two-time MotoGP world champion.
"I understand the choice to hire Marc Marquez, but does not mean it is right… I think Marc could have had an official bike with another team, not è fair to Martin or Bastianini".
Stoner è opposed to sprint races in every MotoGP weekend: "For me the World Championship should be as always, on Sunday. If you make a mistake, you have gambled one’opportunity; now you have two. It's better one-off like in F1, not every GP".
