Alcaraz-Rublev 6-3 7-6 (8)

Carlos Alcaraz's adventure at the Turin Atp Finals, being held in the Piedmontese capital until Sunday, Nov. 17, is not yet over.

The Spaniard, coming off an ugly defeat in his debut, è got back in the running for the semifinals by imposing 6-4 7-6 (8) on Russian Andrey Rublev in the match that opened Wednesday’s program.

Alcaraz, after also threatening to retire, suffered on a surface ill-suited to his characteristics but in the end brought home a crucial success, also in the race for the second place in the ranking.

Decisive, both in this sense and for the passage of the round, will be Friday’s direct clash with Zverev, who is expected tonight to challenge Norwegian Casper Ruud.
