The words of Taylor Fritz

After his success in the opener against Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz was unable to repeat himself on the second day of the group stage of the Nitto ATP Finals 2024 against world number one Jannik Sinner. The American tennis player, in fact, è was defeated by the South Tyrolean with a double 6-4, after a hard-fought match. Speaking at a press conference, the world number five è dwelt on the positive aspects of his performance.

"I think it was a very high level match on both sides. I felt really good, I think I played well and there are so many aspects to take advantage of. He didn’t concede much and I feel that most of the points I scored were absolutely my own. On his serve I had several opportunities but I was not able to make the most of them. In the highlights, on the other hand, Jannik played great and I failed" began the American tennis player.

"In the second set è it was frustrating, I think of the passer made on 30-30 on his serve, è it was unbelievable. It's that Sinner made the difference in the match and proved once again whyè è the world number one" added the number five ATP ranking.

"I played on par with Jannik for most of the match, but he è was better in the decisive moments. The result and score è was the same as in the US Open, forò the matches seemed very different. In New York I didn’t do well and I felt overwhelmed, today I felt like we were playing equal and to be honest he never dominated in the exchanges. I think I did a really good job, both on serve and in terms of the exchanges" Taylor Fritz chipped in.
