Jasmine Paolini beats Moyuka Uchijima, Italy-Japan 1-1

Italy gets back on track for qualification to the semifinals of the Billie Jean King Cup: in Malaga è Jasmine Paolini avenged the defeat suffered by Elisabetta Cocciaretto and allowed the Azzurre to even the score with Japan, thanks to the 6-3, 6-4 inflicted by the Versiliese native on Moyuka Uchijima in seventy-six minutes of play.

The match actually began badly for Paolini, who immediately lost a game on her own serve, but overcoming the negative impact the world number 4 won the next five games, controlling in the final set until the final 6-3, won in just over half an hour from the start of the match at the Martin Carpena Arena.

The second fraction began under the best auspices, with Paolini able to go 2-0 immediately, but the day's opponent had a burst of pride and won four of the next five games, taking a 4-3 lead and making the Italian team, led by captain Tathiana Garbin, see ghosts.

With a partial of three games to zero, però, the Italian athlete sweeps away all doubts and concludes the match in her favor, postponing the qualification discourse to the doubles that, barring sensational reconsiderations on the part of the Italian and Japanese captains, will see Paolini herself together with Sara Errani take on Shuko Aoyama and Eri Hozumi.
