Las Vegas, free practice below expectations at Ferrari
Bad awakening in the Ferrari house after the first two free practice sessions of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. There is no doubt that Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz expected more than the fourth and sixth places they got in the first session and the fifth and fourth places in the second. Here are their words and those of the team prinxipal of the house of Maranello Frederic Vasseur.
Charles Leclerc: “It wasn’t è a memorable day for us, but it seems it was also complicated for the other teams. We are not as strong as we expected to be before we went on track, with these very cold weather conditions for us è it is still difficult to get the tires into the ideal temperature, which we knew would be the challenge of the weekend, so tonight we will work on that. Let’s see what we can bring home tomorrow".
Carlos Sainz: "Today’s in Las Vegas è was a complicated Thursday, mainly because of the track conditions, which had very little grip and gave us strange feelings in the car. For the second session we tried something different, but we are still not satisfied with our position and we need to continue working on it. Hopefully, tonight’s analysis will help us identify the main areas for improvement, so that we can arrive at tomorrow’s qualifying in better shape. The race pace was not bad, but there'è still a lot to do".
Frederic Vasseur: "Ferrari favored for the Las Vegas GP? I don't know if we are the favorite, definitely è a balanced and difficult weekend from the start. The battle è very tight, we have improved from last year. The most important thing è is to be ready for the race, è the one we are thinking about and focused on".
